Freek hot runner heaters – smaller, faster, hotter! - 18.08.2015

At the upcoming Fakuma heating element manufacturer Friedr. Freek will especially focus on its miniaturization successes on its booth in hall A2, 2206. With this development focus the German traditional company supports the leading hot runner manufacturers in producing even more compact, precise and thus resource and energy efficient nozzles and hot runners. The special challenge here is the adherence to the high electric test standards self-imposed by Freek. Even the tiny 1,0 x 1,6 mm Mini-MicroCoils resist 1000 V high voltage due to intensive developments together with suppliers, partner companies and research institutes and with almost 1GOhm insulation resistance they are above the required norm specifications by several powers of ten. Also the cross section and diameter tolerances at Freek nozzle heaters down to the smallest dimensions are by two thirds lower than the market standard of ± 0,15 mm. Especially for heating elements pressed in a groove this tight tolerance has positive effects regarding a reliable good and thus efficient heat transfer.

After another "all-time-high" in the last business year and a continuous expansion path Freek feels vindicated in its innovation and cooperation strategy. An important key to success is also the company KSG Gerätetechnik in Waldheim, Saxony, co-founded by Freek in 1991. It originally used to manufacture simple standard heating elements but in the meantime the number of nozzle heaters manufactured for Freek has steadily increased. The parallel manufacturing in Waldheim that is designed for large series guarantees Freek nozzle heaters to be even more competitive in case of needs with large quantities without endangering the high flexibility and innovation dynamics at Menden.

The Freek electric heat specialist is very pleased that not only its own sites in Menden and Waldheim but also the associated EUCOPET partners in Italy, England and Ireland benefit from this 20-years-lasting cooperation that was formerly accompanied by EUREKA and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Meanwhile the mainly small and medium-sized network partners employ more than 300 staff members and manufacture the complete range of electric industrial heating elements. Freek will show the latest novelty of the network cooperation - the ex-protected drum heaters and bulk container heaters – at the FAKUMA as well as the new infrared emitter generation from Ceramicx that is especially designed for thermoforming.
